Amanda Jeppesen
Founder of Sous La Face. Creator of the RRR™ Method.
I didn’t set out to build a beauty company. I set out to understand why so many people were searching for results that never seemed to last.
For years, the conversation around beauty has focused on correcting what we see. I became fascinated by what was happening underneath.
The lymphatic system. The fascia. The muscles. The nervous system.
The way stress, inflammation, and tension quietly shape the face we see every day. I believed there had to be a better way. Not to change people. But to help them feel more like themselves.
There Were No Investors. No Roadmap.
When I opened my first studio in 2020, it wasn’t the business you see today. It was a small basement studio in Toronto with a record player, a few carefully collected pieces of furniture, and one treatment room.
There were no investors. No roadmap. No blueprint for the category I was trying to build. Just an obsession with creating something people had never experienced before.
One client became another. Then another. Almost every step of our growth came through word of mouth. People didn’t just notice that they looked different. They noticed they felt different.
There Was a Time I Wasn't Building Companies
I was raising my children. Like many women, I eventually found myself asking a difficult question. Who am I now?
I didn’t have a background in business. I wasn’t following a carefully mapped-out entrepreneurial path. I simply became fascinated by the lymphatic system, manual therapy, and the incredible changes I was seeing through skilled human touch.
That curiosity became an education. That education became an obsession. That obsession became a company.
Looking back, I don’t think Sous La Face was just the business I built. It was the person I became while building it.
Today, one of the things I’m most passionate about is showing that reinvention doesn’t have an expiration date. You can begin again. You can change direction. You can build something meaningful long after you think you’ve missed your chance. For me, that journey happened to begin with one treatment room.
Techniques Alone Were Never Enough
To deepen my understanding, I trained internationally in Germany and New York, studying advanced facial sculpting, buccal massage, and manual lymphatic drainage. But techniques alone were never enough.
The real education came from thousands of treatments. Watching. Listening. Refining. Over time, patterns emerged. The most meaningful results weren’t coming from one technique. They came from understanding how the lymphatic system, fascia, muscles, and nervous system work together.
Today, every Signature Experience at Sous La Face is built on that philosophy.
The Goal Never Changed
As the company grew, so did my vision. What started as one treatment room became studios in Toronto and West Hollywood. We introduced memberships. Recovery Rooms. A growing team. New experiences.
But the goal never changed. I wasn’t interested in creating another spa. Or another med spa. I wanted to build a company that would redefine how people think about lymphatic health and facial sculpting. One that combined science, hospitality, and exceptional hands-on care in a way that felt both luxurious and deeply human.
Our Clients Never Stopped Calling Us Sous La Face
A few years into our journey, we simplified our name to Sous La. It felt like the right decision at the time. But something remarkable happened.
Our clients never stopped calling us Sous La Face. They reminded me that the face wasn’t simply part of our name. It was where our philosophy began. So we listened.
Returning to Sous La Face wasn’t about going backwards. It was about having the humility to recognize what had always made us different.
Sometimes your community sees your identity more clearly than you do.
The Future of Beauty Will Look Very Different
It will move away from correction and toward care. Away from chasing perfection and toward supporting the body. Away from trends and toward understanding.
- I believe the lymphatic system deserves to be part of that conversation.
- I believe exceptional hospitality is just as important as exceptional technique.
- I believe the most meaningful results come from consistency, not quick fixes.
- Most of all, I believe people deserve experiences that leave them feeling healthier, more confident, and more connected to themselves than when they arrived.
I’m not building Sous La Face to be the biggest beauty company. I’m building it to become the most trusted name in lymphatic facial wellness.
